Salvation Prophecy - Character Model(s)
Hey guys,
I'm temporarily creating some characters for the upcoming game "Salvation Prophecy" by Firedance Games http://www.salvationprophecy.com. I've got the permsission to show some of the images I've created in online forums so I'd like to show you the alien girl. I've created the basemesh in Silo2 as usual. After that I moved to ZB and sculpted the body and the head. I reimported a mid-poly version in Silo 2 and created the clothes with the great Poly tool and moved back to ZB to sculpt details on the clothes. Finally I reimportd clothes, head and body to retopologize the whole mesh as a lowpoly character in Silo2. ![]() Here is another version of her dress. ![]() And the lowpoly: ![]() Cheers "ko'gen"

Nice!
I love these 'next gen' game characters. Creating Hi-res sculpts for normal mapping... good stuff! You can really bring a character to life with it. I Like the character design, and the Hi res sculpts are great. The low res is great too. Whats the poly count on the lowpoly? Great work! |

Hei,
thanks for all the fish ![]() The polycount was around 4.800 tris. Actually I don't think we need her so detailed, but it was quite funny and it was faster than painting all the muscles or whatever. Now, we just have to bake the geometry as Normal and Ambient Occlusion maps. I hope this can be done fast. We'll see ![]() Cheers "ko'gen.

Some lovely solid modelling there! I am interested to see how the normal mapping works out.

Looking good man. Looks a bit off to me where it kinda dives in at the crotch, i think that'd be better if it was a bit more free flowing. I'd maybe try making the transition from the ribcage to the stomach a bit smaller.
Is this the game that Glen Southern is working on? is it one of his designs, or did you design it? |

Hei Noir,
thanks for your critism. You're right, it's the game where Glen is working on. At the moment I haven't got in contact with him, so I didn't build anything of his concepts. (But I guess it would be interesting to do that) But it wasn't me who designed her. Max Kulich is the name of that guy who drew her. He created some very exciting concepts of this alien race. I'm just the one who's taking it to the third dimension. Cheers "ko'gen".

Wow, that is an impressive model! Looks really well done to me.
The game looks really sweet. I didn't know Glen Southern was working on it too.

Cheers guys.
Here are some new shots from the game first one shows a Highpoly gun modeled in Silo as usual and then taken to ZB for detailing. Second one is the so called "Drone" that was fully modeled in Silo2, texturing was done in PS. And I'm hoping to see it in game soon. Hope you like it. Cheers "ko'gen".

That's a very cool looking character. Thanks for sharing the workflow.
Quick question. Do you prefer the retopology tools in Silo over the tools in ZBrush? Also, are you working on a mac or pc. Thanks. I've been using Maya and Zbrush, but have had some issues with ZBrush normal mapping on a mac and I want to explore some other workflow options. Any additional details you can provide about your workflow would be appreciated.

Ko'gen very nice work on the lady. She looks fantastic in low and high res. She will look amazing in game I would imagine.
I did a little work on the creature concepts and models last year but haven't been involved for some time. It's a great project with some talented artists working on it. http://www.southerngfx.co.uk/uploads2009/img049.jpg http://www.southerngfx.co.uk/uploads2009/img048.jpg
